Meet The Team

Steven Flint Therapist

Steven Flint

Therapist: LCSW-S

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who served as an Iraq combat Veteran. I believe life can be challenging for all of us and often presents us with obstacles that prevent us from living life to the fullest. During my time working in medical social work, and in-patient psychiatric hospitals doing individual and group therapy with children and adults, I have learned people are resilient, and hold the keys to a stronger and happier future. In therapy feeling comfortable with your therapist is essential in making therapeutic progress. I provide transparency, honesty, and a non-judgmental, confidential, and relaxing environment

I use a client centered approach, CBT, and solution focused therapy to encourage my clients to identify the strengths that lie within them. I have experience in helping people with depression, PTSD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder and anger management. I have experience working with teenagers, adults, Veterans, first responders, and the geriatric population.

I am a native to Washington State where I joined the Army and was stationed in Germany and Texas. After my time in the Army I worked for the El Paso Sheriffs department for 3 years. I earned my Bachelor in Social Work from the University of Texas El Paso and moved to attend the UTSA, where I later earned my masters in Social Work.

Therapist: LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker here in the state of Texas and have been in the field of mental health for the past 20 years. I provide counseling and psychotherapy services to the greater San Antonio area and surrounding areas. My approach to therapy is focused on the individual’s capacity to make rational choices and develop to their maximum potential, primarily through supportive, solution focused and goal-oriented therapy. I practice a cognitive behavioral approach with a focus on what and how individuals think about change, keeping in mind the goals of the individual and realistic solutions.

Life can be impacted by difficulties and pain, but it can also be very rewarding and joyful. Our thoughts and feelings can be rooted in our pasts, despite our best efforts to move forward and grow. Through counseling, you will recognize your power to choose to feel better - the choice to release negative feelings, to liberate yourself of these feelings and to become more aware of the present, leading to a more successful you.

Your decision to seek therapy takes courage and a commitment to yourself, together we can work towards improving your emotional management, how you deal with anger, how you cope with worry and how you confront today’s world.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned my masters in Community Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio and work primarily with adolescents, couples, families, LGBT, and those in juvenile probation. I have experience working with clients with depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anger issues, grief and loss, defiant behavior, eating disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harm, relationship issues, marital conflict, and divorce. Some of the evidence-based theories I use are Solution Focus, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Therapy.

Counseling is a journey an individual takes, when a person allows themselves to be vulnerable and receive support. Despite our circumstances, each person has unique strengths that are essential to aid in healing. There are times in a person's life where he/she feels overwhelmed, stuck, aware of past trauma, toxic relationships or self-esteem issues, which affect one's quality of life. It takes courage to acknowledge you are not where you want to be, and to work to change the situation. I enjoy empowering and equipping others with the proper tools to confidently address issues that have been holding them back and hearing their success stories.

I look forward to having an opportunity to work together so that you can reach your goals.
